Tilt and turn windows have long been a popular choice due to their excellent weather proofing and security features. These windows are very practical and versatile as they feature a hinge mechanism and they can be opened in two ways.
Tilt and turn windows can be opened like a casement inwards opening window or they can be tilted from the bottom so that the top of the window is angled into the room, opening for ventilation. The tilted opening also has the added benefit of increased security and safety as no one can go through the gap.
Awning windows are hinged on the top and open outward from the bottom, allowing for ventilation and protection from the rain. Often placed higher on walls for privacy or in combination with large fixed windows for a better view.
